Confirmed times: not yet available — Game Freak hasn't announced a runtime. We time our own playthrough (main story, main + extras, completionist) and publish exact figures here on day one.
Estimated length (pre-release)
This is an educated estimate from the confirmed structure, not an official figure:
| Playstyle | Rough estimate |
|---|---|
| Main story | ~20–30 hours (typical for a focused, boss-driven action RPG) |
| Main + side content | ~30–40 hours |
| Completionist (all Nushi, gear, trophies) | ~45–55 hours |
Estimates only. Replaced with measured times at launch.
Why the structure points this way
Beast of Reincarnation is not open world. The director confirmed a stage-based design: wide "district level" areas traversed east to west across post-apocalyptic Japan, each anchored by a Nushi boss in its Blighted Forest. That's a more contained, curated shape than a 100-hour open world — closer to a Sekiro or a Plague Tale in scope than an Elden Ring.
Two things will swing your personal time:
- Difficulty. On harder settings, boss attempts inflate the clock; Story Mode compresses it. See the beginner guide.
- Exploration. District levels are "quite wide" with gear and spirit stones to find — completionists sweeping every corner add hours.
