Demo status: not announced (yet)
As of July 2026, Game Freak and publisher Fictions have not announced a playable demo of Beast of Reincarnation on any platform — no PS5 demo, no Xbox demo, and no Steam Next Fest appearance. Hands-on impressions so far have come from press and event builds (such as the Xbox Developer Direct showcase), not from a public trial.
If that changes before the August 4 release, this page will be updated the same day — some publishers do drop surprise demos in the final weeks.
The cheapest ways to try it at launch
| Option | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Xbox / PC Game Pass | From your existing subscription | Beast of Reincarnation is a day-one Game Pass title — effectively the closest thing to a free trial. Play Anywhere included. |
| Steam refund window | $59.99, refundable | Steam refunds purchases with under 2 hours of playtime within 14 days. Enough to test performance and feel out the parry combat. |
| Full purchase | $59.99 | PS5 / Xbox Series X|S / PC. See all editions and pre-order bonuses. |
Why Game Pass is the real demo
Because the game launches straight into Game Pass, the usual "wait for a demo" calculus changes: if you have any active Game Pass subscription, you can simply play the full game on day one and decide whether it clicks. For a parry-centric, Sekiro-inspired action RPG — where feel matters more than any trailer — that's a better test than a demo slice would be.
At launch: we'll confirm here whether a demo or trial version exists on each storefront, and how long the Steam refund window realistically lets you evaluate the opening area.
