The Beast of Reincarnation: The Final Boss

The title fight closes a campaign that has spent thirteen chapters teaching you to match elements to enemies — and then takes that tool away. The Beast of Reincarnation is the only boss on the roster with no recorded weakness, it drops a reward you will never use in that run, and it begins a three-achievement chain that ends in New Game Plus. Here is what our coverage establishes about the encounter and everything it triggers.

Where the fight sits

The Beast of Reincarnation is the eleventh and last story boss on our boss list, fought in Chapter 13 — the chapter titled To Bloom Then Fall, after which our length guide places the epilogue Bearing Fruit. It is also the only entry on the roster with no level recorded: where every other fight carries a number, this one is listed simply as the Chapter 13 finale. If you want a bracket, the neighbouring encounters are the Shidou & Nue resolution at Level 48 in Chapter 11 and Kunai & Kirin at Level 49 in Chapter 12, and our builds page gives the player level cap as 100.

By way of scheduling, our length guide measures a focused run to the credits at roughly 20 hours, a typical playthrough at 25 to 28, and a completionist single run at 30 to 35. Wherever you land in that range, Chapter 13 is the end of it.

No weakness, by design

The weakness column on the boss list reads None, and our review confirms the same in its roster summary: the final boss has none. That is a real design statement rather than missing data, and it is the only place on the roster where "none" is asserted rather than left blank.

What it removes is most of the preparation this site has been recommending for twelve chapters. The element-matching that carried Rangifer on Fire and Corvus on Lightning does nothing here. Several Spirit Stone triggers go dead with it: the Spirit Stones guide's Sharpshooter and Entanglement Increase both key off exploiting an elemental weakness, so both are inert in this arena — worth swapping out for something unconditional before you walk in.

What remains is the fundamentals. The boss list's own advice for the finale is to bring your most practised loadout rather than your most exotic one, and to lean on clean deflection, Down Gauge pressure and disciplined Florescence Point spending. Our Koo guide supplies the mechanical detail behind each of those: parries are the primary source of FP, the Down Gauge is the stun meter that fills from hits and clean parries, and the highest-value moment to spend is as that gauge approaches full.

What it drops

The reward column lists Blossoms of Reincarnation, and that is the whole of what our coverage records about it — not whether it is an art, an item, a cosmetic or a story object. That gap is not confirmed, not something we are going to guess at.

What we can say is that no Nushi Skill is attached, which fits the pattern our Koo guide documents: the Nushi Skill unlock order runs Sakura Storm, Dokuzeri Shower, Chimeric Flow, Charging Botan and Acid Burst Nobudou, ending in Chapter 7, with later seals contributing upgrades and Finishers instead. And unlike every other reward on the roster, whatever Blossoms of Reincarnation turns out to be, the campaign ends before you can spend it — which is one of several reasons the endgame really lives in New Game Plus.

The three-achievement chain

Our endings guide documents a fixed three-achievement sequence that fires around the finale, and it is the clearest evidence the game has one authored ending rather than branches:

OrderAchievementConditionAug 31 readSep 7 read
1The End of ReincarnationDefeat the final boss at the end of Chapter 1324.0%25.3%
2Life After the EndWatch the ending sequence through to completion24.0%25.3%
3ReincarnatedBegin New Game Plus after the credits3.0%3.3%

The percentages come from our trophy page (Steam's global figures read August 31) and our achievement tracker (the same source refreshed September 7). Both reads tell the same story, and the third row is the striking one: beating the final boss and watching the ending are effectively the same population, while starting New Game Plus collapses to about an eighth of it.

There is no Ending A or Ending B anywhere in the 46-achievement list. The endings guide is explicit that every player earns the same three, in the same order, which is what a single canonical ending looks like in achievement form.

Loadout notes

  • Swap out the conditional stones. Anything that triggers on exploiting a weakness is dead weight. The Spirit Stones guide's unconditional options read better here: Momentum (5% to 10% attack while Emma is at full health), Critical Damage Increase (5% to 25%) and Iron Wall (15% to 25% damage reduction, at the cost of halving health recovery).
  • Front-load the meters. Entanglement Stone starts combat with Emma's Entanglement Gauge and Koo's FP already raised, which matters most in a fight you may be retrying.
  • Respec is on the table. Our builds page confirms attribute points can be redistributed, and our Amber farming guide adds that resets run through the Cleanse Walker Communicator for Amber. A finale with no weakness is a reasonable place to consolidate into whatever you are actually good at.
  • Patch drift is real. Our patch notes record version 1.0.11 on September 8 adjusting Blade Arts, Finishers, Nushi-derived skills and ranged weapons, plus attack pattern and frequency changes on certain Nushi. The affected bosses are not itemised.

What comes after

Our endings guide establishes that there is one canonical main-story ending with no verified branch, no good or bad split and no hidden true route — and that New Game Plus is a harder replay of the same story rather than an alternate finale. It also notes NG+ has been confirmed not to change the ending. Full completion requires it: the trophy page records the capstone Duty Fulfilled at 2.7% on its August 31 read against 3.0% for Reincarnated, and our length guide frames the NG+ requirement as what pushes a true 100% into a second full pass.

On the story itself we will stay at the level of abstraction the endings guide uses: a quiet, melancholy resolution about breaking a cycle, built on the bond between Emma and Koo. That page carries the fuller outline behind its own spoiler warnings if you want it.

What this page does not claim

No page on this site documents the final boss's attacks, phases, health or arena, and none records its level. We also do not know what Blossoms of Reincarnation is. What we have is the structural picture — no weakness, no Nushi Skill, one ending, three achievements, NG+ required for completion — and the general combat framework that applies to every Malefact on the roster.

Final boss FAQ

What is the final boss weak to?

Nothing. The boss list records its weakness as None, and our review says the same — the only entry on the roster where the absence is asserted rather than unknown.

What level should I be?

No level is listed for this encounter on our boss list. For context, the nearest recorded fights are Level 48 in Chapter 11 and Level 49 in Chapter 12, and the player level cap is 100.

Are there multiple endings?

No. Our endings guide records a single canonical ending followed by New Game Plus, with no verified branching and no achievements for alternate finales.

Do I need to play New Game Plus?

For the full achievement set, yes. Only about 3% of Steam owners have started NG+ and 2.7% hold the completion capstone, against roughly 24–25% who have beaten the final boss.
